Step 1 – Add new template
Go to Elementor/Saved Templates and click Add New
Step 2 – Choose template type
Select the template type “Section” and give your template an appropriate name.
Step 2b – Set placeholder post
If you don’t have Elementor Pro you need to go to the Saved Templates page and click Edit and at the bottom select which post that should be used as a placeholder.
If you use Elementor Pro you set the placeholder post the standard Elementor Pro way. From the Preview Settings box set “Preview Dynamic Content as” to “Post” or other post type and then pick a preexisting post.
Step 3 – Add sections
The plugin renders whatever section you add. You can even add multiple sections. The whole template will be rendered regardless.
Step 4 – Add widgets
Add post title and URL
Drag the Title widget to the section or if you use Elementor Pro select the Post Title widget.
Then click Dynamic on the Title text field and select the Title tag.
Then click Dynamic on the URL text field and select the URL tag.
Add post content
Drag the Text Editor widget to the section or use the Post Excerpt widget.
Select Content or Excerpt.
Finished
Click update and you are done. You can now use this section template with the Posts or Archive widget.
